Registration

Once installed, you should register m via SMS. Registration serves three purposes: it registers you as an m user, it automatically provides m with your phone number to set gsm.number, and it helps us to get reliable statistics about m usage.

During registration, m sends an SMS to the registration server and waits up to a minute for a response.

If there is no response within this period, the registration process is suspended, and you are prompted for the phone number as if you decided not to register. You can also wait until you get an SMS message starting with abregresp, then start m again (do not delete or move the message!), and execute the View→Run Registration command. m will pick up the message from your inbox and evaluate it.
